Oregon Caves Chateau

Oregon Caves Chateau

Architecture & Conservation | Cave Junction, OR | In-Progress

Constructed in 1934 in the Rustic style, the Chateau at Oregon Caves National Monument is a National Historic Landmark that provides food services and overnight accommodations to guests visiting Oregon Caves National Monument.

The National Park Service contracted with ARG to lead a team of architects, engineers of multiple expertise, and cost estimators to study the chateau and to develop a design scheme that addresses critical life and safety deficiencies. The team developed a full existing conditions survey and analysis, which informed a two-phase design scheme that addresses critical life and safety deficiencies to ensure code compliant emergency egress and fire protection.
